Abstract

Background. The article researches educational capacities of such reality as concentration of a person on him/herself.
Materials and methods. Methodological comprehension of the present problem is the teaching about a person as a universal spirituality originating in mythology of the East, philosophy of antiquity, the Middle Ages, the New Times, Russian religious philosophy. A person in the context of the mentioned views is treated as a spirituality immanent to all its possible (vital) actualizations (Plato, Augustine and others).
Results. Concentration (on yourself) is considered in the article as ontology (foundation) of education and presupposes development, in comprehension of your spirituality (your “self”), of specific semantics (universal) typical to it, their retention in reflection (meeting with yourself), their understanding (blending with each other, trust other semantics etc.), return to former yourself and simultaneously to another yourself. Concentration in the stated form shows the true education of an individual’s personality (education that does not oust “self” out of his her own spiritual sphere). The article includes illustrations (by the example of classical literature) of concentration as an educational reality. The adduced points are topical for pedagogy of modern secondary school.
Conclusions. The article formulates the final idea on reasonability of using the didactic reality under consideration in modern secondary school practice.
